Description
Mar steel is also known as malleable iron. It is cast into white billets by the molten iron with certain chemical composition and then annealed. It has high strength, plasticity and impact toughness and can partially replace carbon steel.The main feature of Mar Steel is white cast iron, which can be obtained by graphitization annealing.

This kind of cast iron is also called malleable cast iron or malleable cast iron because of its definite plasticity and toughness.Mar Steel is used for parts with impact or vibration and torsion loads.It is often used to make automobile rear axle, spring bracket, low-pressure valve, pipe joint, tool wrench, etc.In addition, it is often used to make wear-resistant parts of power machinery and agricultural machinery. Advantage
Compared with other cast ferrous metals, Mar steel has better cutting performance than cast steel and ductile iron.It has better corrosion resistance than cast steel; better heat resistance than cast steel and gray cast iron; better vibration damping performance than cast steel and nodular cast iron.
It also has lower temperature ductile brittle transition temperature than nodular cast iron; White Mar Steel also has the best welding performance in cast iron family.Because the chemical composition of Mar Steel is low carbon, medium silicon and appropriate manganese sulfur ratio, scrap steel can be used as the main raw material, and even steel scrap and iron scrap can be used as raw materials. The sulfur content of Mar steel is relatively higher than that of other cast iron, which is beneficial to the smelting of Mar Steel in cupola.
Application
Black center malleable iron has low strength and hardness, good plasticity and toughness, and is used for parts with small load, high impact and vibration.Because of its high strength and hardness, pearlite matrix malleable cast iron is used for important parts with high load, wear resistance and certain toughness requirements.
